Hewlett-Packard (HP) is in the news after shares plunged by 20% to $23.60, erasing about $12 billion in market value, and leaving the stock at nearly six-year lowest. As more than half a dozen Wall Street analysts downgraded its stock, citing a litany of concerns over the company's ability to reinvent itself.
The technology conglomerate announced its third-quarter results compelling it to shut down its mobile devices business. The decision to distance itself from PC business and expand into software and service has kept HP in the news.
Moody's investment service on Friday downgraded HP to negative from stable, pushing HP in the news with uncertainty.
Plunging stocks, shut down of mobile business and detachment from PC business has made a momentous pessimistic impact by thrusting HP in the news.

Keeping track of kids and pets can be a challenge, but Garmin's new technology has made it easier. Garmin, famous for its vehicle navigation systems has developed a portable tracking unit, which helps families keep track of each other.
The Garmin GTU 10 GPS locator is a small, lightweight waterproof device that can be attached to a backpack, pet collar, vehicle or equipment, allowing users to track their whereabouts using a web-based Garmin Tracker service that works with smart phones, tablets, computers and compatible Garmin devices. Each unit sells for about $200, which would include the first year of standard service
The Garmin Astro is used to locate dogs in the open field. Astro is the premier high sensitivity GPS-enabled dog tracking system for sporting dogs

In the current digital market the ongoing debate is, what is better smartphones or tablets? While tablets and smartphones can both deliver mobility, the same operating systems, and applications, they may seem equally competitive but in reality, they're not.
Few of the reasons smartphones have muscled in are, due to variety & choice of smartphones available in market, the pricing as compared to tablets, the pocket-ability, easy web connectivity via 3G and 4G platforms etc.
Just when the choice was getting simplified, Google announced the takeover of Motorola Mobility for a staggering $12.5billion, 63% above the stock's closing price. Most experts seem to believe that it is too early to draw conclusions about the impact on the smartphones universe.
